The Amberley Working Museum is
hidden away in a former chalk pit nestling under the South Downs covering no
less than 36 acres. The museum boasts of over thirty different buildings
with hundreds of well restored exhibits. Volunteers help run
and maintain the enchanting woodland trail, railway, bus station and printing works.
There is
an opportunity to catch either a vintage bus or use the narrow gauge
railway to visit the Connected Earth exhibition, the Railway exhibition and
the EDF Electricity Hall. Added to this are the resident craftspeople working
using traditional methods and tools to produce pottery, castings, iron work, clay pipes and
besom brooms.
