Bluebell Railway

Goods Train Weekend 2006

Goods train One was of pre-grouping stock from London Brighton and South Coast Railway and South Eastern & Chatham Railways, hauled in the morning on Saturday by  No.96 Normandy and  in the afternoon by SECR O1 Class locomotive (No. 65).

Goods train Two on Saturday consisted of  No.9017 Earl of Berkeley with  wagons of  grouping stock from Southern Railway and London Midland and Scottish Railway. On Sunday the  Goods Train was run Fenchurch No.672 in charge.

Normandy performed shunts at Horsted Keynes station with  a set of engineers wagons and the trains where supplemented with passenger rated vans.

Vintage British Railways road vehicles where on display at Horsted Keynes with the Mechanical Horse Club.

The Bluebell Railway performed in the way we have come to expect and put on  demonstration of what was once an everyday occurrence in the South East of England.

The weather was lovely on Saturday with clear blue sky and strong winds and Sunday was overcast with some sunny period, most of which escaped me when the trains passed by. Despite the operational problems over the weekend a very good service of Good Trains was on show.
