The Isle
of Wight Steam Railway
The railway
passes through five and a half miles of the Island's unspoiled
countryside, and aims to recapture the days of the branch line railways. Tank
engines correct for the era with carriages of London, Brighton and South
Coast Railway and South Eastern and Chatham Railway origin, which were once such
a familiar sight run across these metals. Ideal for a day trip from the mainland
easy to get to from Portsmouth Harbour via the foot passenger ferry and the
electric train from Ryde Pier head to Smallbrook Junction.
