Bluebell Railway

The SOUTHERN at WAR - 2005

This years event was turning the clock back 60 years to when the Southern Railway was playing a vital role in a country gripped in war. The nation was  carrying on as normal entwined in military life and fighting for freedom. During the weekend the Invicta Military Preservation Society staged various activities around the stations which included, Mock Battles & Escapes, a Wardens Post with ARP  memorabilia, Military vehicles, War-time newsreels in the cinema coach, Band concerts, NAAFI van and we even got to sample war time recipes.
